What happens in your trial session
A trial is not a sales pitch with a swim attached. It is a normal working session at our Sector 50 pool, arranged so that you can judge us properly and so that we can judge where your swimmer actually stands. Plan for a little over an hour on site, and come a few minutes early — the walk from the school gate to the pool takes a moment.
A tour of the pool and the facility
We start on the deck. You will see the pool itself — all-weather and temperature-controlled, which is why our swimming classes in Gurgaon run through winter and monsoon without a break — along with the changing rooms, the spectator area, the entry and exit points and how supervision is arranged around the water. This is the part most parents care about most, and it is the part photographs never fully answer, so ask whatever you want while you are standing there.
A level assessment in the water
Your swimmer then gets in with a coach. For a complete beginner this is gentle and short: entering safely, getting comfortable, blowing bubbles, seeing how they respond to water on the face. For anyone who already swims, the coach will ask for a length or two of whatever strokes they know and watch for body position, kick, breathing pattern and catch. Nobody is tested or timed against a standard. The only goal is an accurate starting point.
Meeting the coach who would train them
You meet the actual coach for the batch in question — not a front desk. All our coaches are certified and background-verified, and the academy is led by founder and chief coach Vishal Kal Kal, a national medalist with an NSNIS Patiala coaching diploma. It is worth using this time: ask how they handle a nervous child, how they correct technique, what they expect from a swimmer week to week.
A straight recommendation on the batch
At the end, the coach tells you which of our four daily batches fits — From Scratch at 6 to 7 PM, Early Beginners at 5 to 6 PM, Beginners + Intermediate at 4 to 5 PM, or the two-hour Competitive Level session from 4 to 6 PM — and roughly what the next stage of progress should look like. If we think a swimmer is not ready for the level you had in mind, we will say so. There is no obligation to enrol on the day.
What to bring
- Swimming costume, a towel and a change of clothes
- A swimming cap and goggles — we can advise on fit if you do not have them yet
- Flip-flops or pool slippers for the deck
- A water bottle, and a light snack for younger swimmers afterwards
- Any medical information a coach should know about, such as asthma or allergies
Trials are paid and prepaid, and the charge is emailed to you as soon as you book, so there are no surprises at the pool. Fill in the form above to pick your preferred date, or call us on +91 80599 46194 if you would rather sort it out over the phone. If you want to read up on the levels first, our programmes page sets out what each batch covers.
