Swimming classes in Gurgaon are often sold as one generic course, which is the main reason people stall halfway. A child who is still afraid to put their face in the water and a swimmer shaving seconds off a 50m freestyle need completely different hours in the pool. We run four daily batches at our Sector 50 pool, each with its own entry point, its own syllabus and its own pace. Read the descriptions below to find the likely fit — and if you are still unsure, our coaches will place your swimmer properly after a short in-water assessment rather than asking you to guess.
From Scratch — 6:00 to 7:00 PM
This batch is for the true first-timer: a child or adult who has never swum, or who has had a bad experience in water and is genuinely nervous about it. The first weeks are not about strokes at all. They are about safe entry and exit, breath control, blowing out underwater, submerging, and then floating and gliding without a coach holding on. Once that base is there we introduce the flutter kick and the first freestyle arm cycles. Most swimmers spend roughly six to ten weeks here, though nervous learners sometimes take longer and that is completely normal — we move a swimmer up when they are ready, not when the calendar says so.
Early Beginners — 5:00 to 6:00 PM
For swimmers who are already comfortable in water, can float and glide, and can travel a few metres in some fashion, but do not yet have a real stroke. The focus here is building freestyle properly — body position, a kick driven from the hip rather than the knee, a catch that holds water, and the side breathing that stops most self-taught swimmers from ever going more than one length. Backstroke usually comes in during this stage because it forces good body alignment. Expect around two to four months before a swimmer can cover repeated lengths without stopping.
Beginners + Intermediate — 4:00 to 5:00 PM
This is the batch for a swimmer who can already do a length or two and now needs technique and stamina rather than survival skills. Sessions combine drill work to clean up freestyle and backstroke with the introduction of breaststroke and, for those ready for it, butterfly. Swimmers start doing structured sets instead of lengths at random, learn turns, and build the aerobic base that everything later depends on. Many swimmers stay in this batch for several months, and a good number are perfectly happy to stay here permanently — this is the level at which swimming becomes a lifelong fitness habit rather than a course to finish.
Competitive Level — 4:00 to 6:00 PM
A two-hour daily session for swimmers preparing for school, district, state and national meets. Entry is based on assessment, not age. Training covers all four strokes to legal technique, starts off the blocks, turns and finishes, pace and interval sets, race strategy and dryland conditioning. Our founder and chief coach Vishal Kal Kal — a national medalist with an NSNIS Patiala coaching diploma — sets the standard for this group around his D3 formula: Discipline plus Dedication plus Determination equals Excellence. Competitive swimmers train year-round, which our all-weather, temperature-controlled pool makes possible through winter and monsoon alike.
Still not sure which batch to join? That is the normal position for most parents, and it is exactly what a trial is for. Come to the pool, watch a live session, meet the coach who would be training your swimmer, and let us assess them in the water before you commit to anything. You can book a paid trial online or call us on +91 80599 46194 and we will talk it through.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the kids and competitive programs?

How many days a week are classes held?
Batch frequency varies by program — typically 2-3 sessions per week for kids and adults, with more frequent training for competitive swimmers. Ask our team for the current schedule.
Can adults join the competitive program?
The competitive program is primarily for swimmers training toward meets; adults interested in serious training can speak with our coaches about fit.
